Hot Little Project

If I’m camping at an event where I expect cold weather, I bring a pile of little chemical handwarmer packets. This quick little bag will now keep them organized and find-able in my luggage in the tent.

I made little buttonholes for the double drawstrings to exit the casings.

Inside view of the drawstring casing. I just made the bag extra tall and folded the top edge back on itself inside the bag, using the extra length both to face the top ruffle and to form the drawstring casing. All raw edges were serged, and the bottom and side seams were also stitched with a regular machine stitch for reinforcement.

The finished bag, with drawstrings open to show the shape.
